Monism Music: Jesse Brooks "ISTF" *Zodiac Cartel Remix"! Prepares for release!

This year Monism Music, that MO7S and myself have been running will take the next step in the direction of becoming a stateside Tech-Funk label. One of very few might I add. This week, our next release Monism 006 done by West Coasts, Jesse Brooks, had a spotlight done over on the TECH-FUNK MANIFESTO, owned and operated by Mr. Elite Force. You can check out what people have said already and hear a sample of the upcoming Zodiac Cartel remix scheduled for release right in time for the Winter Music Conference.

In other news, prepare for the following release Monism 007 to have remixes of LA's Brian Thomas' "The Drop" done by Lot49's, Kid Blue and one from yours personally. All will be dropping for WMC. So much in the works, don't sleep now!

FTW @ The Goodlife for a good cause!

This Friday will be a benefit party for Lil' Melissa and Jess who recently had a house fire this past November and were left with nothing. Thankfully, they were both fine. So to assist them in getting back on their feet, we are bringing everyone together this Friday. We hope you can make it out. In addition, we will be celebrating my Birthday as well. I won't mention how old I am now but I will answer if you ask me in person. LOL.....

Red Bull Sound Clash: The Roots vs Antibalas!

Red Bull Sound Clash is a totally unique clash of sounds, styles and creativity, where two bands (The Roots and Antibalas) don’t battle each other, but instead collaborate to create an innovative live music performance.

The Red Bull Sound Clash experience features two bands with different music styles facing off on two stages positioned on opposite ends of the venue with the audience in the middle. In this case The Roots and Antibalas will partake in this interactive musical performance. In a series of four rounds, the bands perform various tasks, some rehearsed, some improvised, to showcase the array of their musical abilities. The audience participates in the back-and-forth exploration between the bands by judging each round.

The Roots - Grammy award winning American hip-hop band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and are famed for having a jazzy, eclectic approach to hip hop

Antibalas - Bushwick, Brooklyn based afrobeat band that is modeled after Fela Kuti's Africa 70 band and Eddie Palmieri's Harlem River Drive Orchestra. Although their music is primarily afrobeat, it incorporates elements of jazz, funk, dub, improvised music, and traditional drumming from Cuba and West Africa.
