The newest, entitled The Left-Right Project, is a design-off between East and West coast fashion-art collectives Surface to Air and Upper Playground, respectively. Adidas crafted a pair of SUV-sized Superstars, complete with fire hose shoelaces, the artists got to work customizing, and the results will be showcased on the Venice Beach boardwalk.KATRINA MITZELIOTISTune in Tuesday, April 15th, to watch the transformation right here on nylonmag.com... From the turntable to the roundtable: One room. Eight local DJs

REPEAT AFTER us: a DJ is not a jukebox. If there’s anything that echoes in our head on a recent Friday afternoon, as we sip beers around a table in the back room of the Boston Billiard Club, it’s those six words. At the table with us: eight of the city’s finest DJs, for a discussion covering everything from their pure, infectious enthusiasm for their craft to persistent problems in the industry. Our panel features Charlie and Eli of DJ duo Soul Clap; veteran DJ Bruno, who runs UtopiaBoston.com and has been spinning in Boston for more than two decades; DJ Melee, who describes his sound as “breaks, beats, and basslines”; DJ Knife of Fresh Produce at the Good Life and Marinate at the Milky Way; Ms. Thang, who spins hip-hop, reggae, funk, soul, and house; and DJs Die Young and Baltimoroder, both known for their work at hipster parties like Make It New and Thunderdome.

Myself and seven other Boston based dj's were asked to sit down and discuss Boston's music and the "scene". Thank you goes out to the Stuff @ Night staff for having us in and letting us speak our minds. You can read the whole article here at STUFF AT NIGHT

WORD OF THE WEEK: YARD SALE

YARD SALE: def: When a skier or snowboarder eats it on the slopes and loses all of their gear. If a skier loses his skies, poles, hat, goggles, and anything else, shout "YARD SALE" from the ski lift above him.

"While the skier denied that he lost his skis and poles in the fall, everyone that saw it knew that in reality his fall was a classic yard sale"

that would be me (Jade) each time i "try" to get off the chair lift... god damn winter sports... give me a beach and the ocean and i'm fearless.... LOL

Bjork's 3-D "Wanderlust" Video - Amazing!

The stills seen above and below come from the the "Wanderlust" video, which, as previously reported, has been been rendered in thrilling 3-D. It will feature on a DVD accompanying the remix-ridden "Wanderlust" single (3-D glasses included!), due April 14 on One Little Indian. The Encyclopedia Pictura-directed spectacle will also premiere on Yahoo.com March 31, and folks without 3-D glasses can still dazzle over a separate, 2-D version. Check out a teaser clip for the 2-D version below. (cheers to: Pitchfork Media)

I have never been so impressed with any other artists work, as I am with Bjork. When you think she has out done herself, she steps it up to the next level. When you think the boundaries have been broken, she once again, breaks them again. She is a forward thinking, amazing artist. That is all. You can view the VIDEO HERE!

MONISM001: MO7S - King Claw - (Jamie Kidd Rmx) Itunes!

As we have come to learn, sometimes when you want something done right, you need to call on your friends and start your own label. That's just what Stephen Manders aka MO7S has done. With the recent change in direction of my life I am steering back to my roots and where I belong. Alongside best friend and fellow production brother, MO7S. I have headed straight back into the studio and production has been full on for the last few months. I really have to say, I have never felt so happy. As "King Claw" will mark the first release for MONISM MUSIC, a label specializing in techno, tech-funk, minimal, and anything that is banging and crunchy. Releases are scheduled and on the way down the pipeline for the rest of 2008, including production from such artists as Jon Cates of Cates & dpL, Brian Thomas, Si Begg, Myself and of course label-boss Mo7s. Today is the release date of MONISM 001! Cheers and we look forward to making sound systems bump.
